Nearby Surfing Hot Spots

There are lots of awesome places to surf around the resort, from Portreath where we’re based to Gwithian and Hayle. St Ives, Newquay, Perranporth, Praa Sands, Polzeath and Constantine are all within a drive away from the resort and are world-renowned for their waves.

For the Pros…

If you know your aerials from your barrels and your rash guard from your neoprene, you’ll know what you’re doing when it comes to catching a gnarly wave or two. Stay with us and enjoy some serious surfing time at Fistral Beach just a 25-minute drive away. Porthmeor Beach in nearby St Ives is another surfing hot spot and Sennen Beach in Penzance is also popular.

Surf School…

For those of you who are keen to try surfing or who haven’t done it for a while, why not book in a few surf lessons with our local surf school? At Portreath Surf School, they will rent surfboards, as well as wet suits and you can even try a SUP or sea kayak if you want to do more than just surfing in Cornwall.
