There are lots of awesome places to surf around the resort, from Portreath where we’re based to Gwithian and Hayle. St Ives, Newquay, Perranporth, Praa Sands, Polzeath and Constantine are all within a drive away from the resort and are world-renowned for their waves.

If you know your aerials from your barrels and your rash guard from your neoprene, you’ll know what you’re doing when it comes to catching a gnarly wave or two. Stay with us and enjoy some serious surfing time at Fistral Beach just a 25-minute drive away. Porthmeor Beach in nearby St Ives is another surfing hot spot and Sennen Beach in Penzance is also popular.
For those of you who are keen to try surfing or who haven’t done it for a while, why not book in a few surf lessons with our local surf school? At Portreath Surf School, they will rent surfboards, as well as wet suits and you can even try a SUP or sea kayak if you want to do more than just surfing in Cornwall.

Residence Eco Lodges
Each lodge boasts private parking, a bubbling hot tub on your sprawling sundeck which is perfect to warm up in after a day in the waves or on your bike, a hot outdoor shower for washing down your boards and an outdoor dining area. Head inside these modern lodges and enjoy sea views from your sofa, open plan layout, mood lighting throughout, a Sonos sound system that you can control in different rooms, en-suite bathroom, 2 or 3 bedrooms, cosy log burners and even a television in your bath tub.
We have lots of dog-friendly versions of these lodges, all of which come with their own parking space. With traditional wooden exteriors and cosy interiors, these lodges are more than large enough to house your own surf boards and store your bikes should you choose to bring them with you. You can hang your wet suits up on the decking to dry in the sun and breeze, plus you can enjoy meals either outside on your sun deck or inside on the family-sized kitchen table.
With a glorious setting overlooking Clover Lake and adjacent to the Famous Nine golf course, our Lakeside Lodges are a popular choice for short luxury getaways. These studio lodges offer a choice of a king sized bed or twin beds with shower room, fully equipped kitchen, open plan lounge & sitting room area, all finished to the highest quality.
