VisitEngland Award for Excellence has been presented to Landal Gwel an Mor,
once again putting the 5 star holiday resort in Portreath in the limelight. Winning
Gold in the Holiday Village of the Year category, Landal Gwel an Mor continues
its reign as one of the UK’s most highly awarded resorts, cementing the North Cornish

This prestigious accolade was announced at the Awards
ceremony held on Monday 23rd April at Bath Assembly Rooms. Now in
its 29th year, the awards champion quality and distinction in the
tourism market, with Landal Gwel an Mor winning Holiday Village of the Year for
an unprecedented second time. With nearly 350 applicants across 18
categories competing for this significant accolade in English tourism,
competition has been strong with Landal Gwel an Mor winning categories in the
Cornwall Tourism Awards then South West Tourism Awards to achieve this national
At the last count, Landal Gwel an Mor was the recipient of
41 awards with the Visit England Award for Excellence making a grand total of
42 accolades being bestowed on the resort over the last 8 years – a record
amount. Constant change and improvement are key to the
resort’s success, with a continual programme of investment, the most recent
development being ‘The Famous Nine’ golf course inspired by the world’s most
celebrated golf holes.
