The main lights are all designed and made in the village and are therefore unique to Angarrack. Many are also cleverly animated and there is a special sequence of lights that displays the 12 Days of Christmas. Padstow Christmas Lights
Padstow’s Christmas Lights have been delighting visitors since the mid-1970s. The pretty fishing harbour and the streets of the town are alive with colour. The fishing boats are illuminated, creating beautiful reflections off the water. Padstow is a wonderful place to gather in the festive season. Not only are the lights spectacular to see, but many of them have a story to tell about the history of the town. During your visit, you can also enjoy some of the finest places to eat in Cornwall. Every year, Padstow also stages its own Christmas Food Festival.
Christmas Lights with a difference at the Eden Project
As part of its Winter Festival, the Eden Project will be staging a unique Shadows and Light experience on selected evenings during December. You will see the huge biomes dramatically lit with myriad colours. There will be interactive light sculptures that react to your touch. The Rainforest Biome will feature tropical zones of colour and light, while the Mediterranean Biome will showcase a Laser Forest and an Antarctic Garden. This is a Christmas festival of light that is like no other.
Truro Christmas Lights
The elegant Christmas Lights in the city of Truro make a perfect backdrop for some Christmas browsing and shopping. One of the focal points is the beautifully illuminated Christmas tree outside Truro Cathedral. There is a host of great activities happening throughout December, including special late-night shopping events and festive street markets. Mousehole Christmas Lights
People travel from all over Cornwall to see the Mousehole Christmas Lights – and it’s easy to see why! The lights have been an established highlight of the Christmas season for over 50 years and are arranged right around the beautiful harbour wall to create a spectacular panorama. You will see colourfully lit fishing boats, giant sea serpents and whales. In total, there are over 7,000 bulbs illuminating the town. During your visit, you can also browse the pretty local gift shops.
New Year’s Eve Fireworks at St Ives
See the skies lit up over the gorgeous seaside town of St Ives. In addition to its lovely Christmas Lights, every New Year’s Eve St Ives hosts one of the most impressive celebrations in Cornwall. There is a vibrant street party throughout the evening, with thousands of revellers descending on the town – and many in fancy dress. At midnight, people gather on the seafront and on the beach for a huge fireworks display, with the glare of the rockets reflecting off the surface of the sea. Not to be missed!
