We did it! We have once again been named a finalist in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2014 - widely regarded as the Oscars of the tourism industry.
We will compete in the Holiday Park / Holiday Village of the Year Category, a category we won in 2012, bringing the Gold award home to Cornwall.
As a finalist Gwel an Mor now goes forward to the glittering awards ceremony which is being held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Cheltenham Racecourse, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
We'll now be on tenterhooks until the ceremony to find out which award we've won. All finalists are guaranteed to receive a Gold, Silver, Bronze or Highly Commended Award.
Bill Haslam, owner of Gwel an Mor said: “We are delighted to be a finalist in the VisitEngland awards. Having won the gold award in 2012 we know how prestigious this accolade is, and to reach the finals once again is such a fantastic achievement.
“It is great to have recognition for all the hard work put in by our dedicated staff as they ensure that our guests have the best holiday imaginable.”
James Berresford, Chief Executive of VisitEngland said “I would like to congratulate all those nominated as finalists for this year’s VisitEngland Awards for Excellence. We receive hundreds of applications each year of an extremely high standard, so it is a tremendous achievement for Gwel an Mor to become a finalist and to represent the top five in their category in England.
“I wish all the finalists the very best of luck for the awards ceremony in May.”
The VisitEngland Awards attracted 368 applications for the 2014 awards – an increase of 15% on 2013.
Wish us luck - we'll of course let you know how we get on!
