Cornwall looks and feels different – and is different – from anywhere else in the country. Visitors often find at least one thing about the county that completely surprises them. Some might know all about the windswept north coast - tiny trees bent by the wind, big surf, jagged cliffs - but might not realise how good the sailing is on the sheltered waters of the south coast’s tree-lined creeks.

Others might not appreciate just how vast and wild some Cornish beaches really are, how far the fame of some Cornish restaurants has spread, how strikingly different Cornish wildlife can look (the wingspan of a low-flying buzzard is a test for any driver’s concentration) ...

...So those seeking beauty, peace and luxury will not be disappointed. But we also
satisfy more energetic appetites. In our clubhouse is a fully-equipped gym, sauna, steam room, swimming pool and spa pool and outdoor children’s adventure play area. Our restaurant and bar (opening Summer 2007) will serve high-quality, freshly-cooked meals and use, where possible, locally produced Cornish food and drink.

Elsewhere around Gwel an Mor you’ll find, croquet and putting. Children are invited to join in a number of supervised activity/interest sessions and, where possible, these sessions include visits to our near neighbours at Feadon Farm and Portreath Surf Lifesaving Club – the UK’s largest such club whose work we help to fund. The brains and bodies of our younger guests will feel more than adequately exercised, while older visitors will have the chance, should they want it, to do absolutely nothing.

Gwel an Mor is also only a 2 minute drive and 10 minute walk from Portreath Beach
and a 10 minute drive from Godrevy Beach, both these fantastic sandy beaches
offer numerous water activites that will keep everyone entertained.
