61 awards were announced at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2013, following a rigorous judging process in which over 300 entries were considered. Gwel an Mor walked away with GOLD in the Outstanding Customer Service Award and Bronze in the Holiday Park and Village of the year. Winning Gold means Gwel an Mor will yet again go on to represent our region at the Enjoy England Awards in May this year.
These prestigious awards, currently in their 23rd year, promote excellence on England's tourism industry and celebrate the very best the country has to offer. The 34 Gold and Silver winners were selected from a shortlist of 69 finalists, judges by a panel of tourism industry experts including Visit England Board Member David Orr and travel broadcaster Alison Rice. Gwel an Mor is now recognised as the Best Holiday Village in England.
After winning at the Cornwall Tourism Awards in 2011 we were entered into the South West Tourism Awards in 2012 which celebrate the most outstanding tourism businesses in the South West, recognising those businesses which excel in the regions top industry.
2012- We won two gold awards; one for 'Outstanding Customer Service' and one for the brand new 'Wildlife Friendly Business' award, we also received a Silver award for 'Holiday Park of the year' award.
2011- At the 10th annual Cornwall Tourism Awards, organised by Visit Cornwall, we won the prestigious Gold title in the 'Holiday Village of the Year' award. The judges also felt the unfailing commitment of the team at Gwel an Mor to exceptional customer care deserved special acknowledgment, which led to our second honour of the evening; a special award for 'Outstanding Customer Service'.
2010- In 2010 the self catering establishment awards were split into both large and small, after a visit from Cornwall Tourisms secret shopper to judge every aspect of our business we proudly picked up a silver award for this category. A comment from the assessment ...

In particular our resident wildlife expert Gary Zammit was singled out for his "enthusiasm and passion. By introducing guests to Cornish wildlife Gary provides a unique and memorable holiday experience for all ages".

Hoseasons are the largest booking agency in the UK, we are very pleased to work with them as we believe they hold the same values as ourselves in wanting to deliver exceptional holidays to their guests, they act as agents for over 440 parks and resorts in the UK, they have given us their highest Diamond Award in both 2008, and 2009.
Gwel an Mor was completed in the summer of 2008 following 3 years of construction, to be judged as one of the top ten destinations by this highly regarded newspaper was exceptional, they commented....

We pride ourselves on the level of service we offer our guests, and again to have won this award judged against every other business in Cornwall in our first full year of being open was exceptional and very rewarding to all our staff, they really do go the extra mile.
